“There are still many blind spots in his life. “He studied at a primary school in Přerov and he was supposed to become a carpenter and cabinet maker, but he decided to go to Prague instead and became an independent journalist. “In 1926 he decided, together with his friend Josef Hübl, to go on a trip around the world, which lasted for five years. His father passed away when he was around eight, so his childhood wasn’t too happy, but I think it actually formed his character.
